The city of Brisbane is the capital of Queensland and the main entry point for international travelers. It has great hotel accommodation scattered around in almost all parts of the city. Brisbane's hotel accommodation comes in a fantastic range and there is something to suit all needs. The CBD area is home to many thousands of hotel rooms and apartments. Many of these are along the Brisbane river frontage and only a short walk to the center of the city. The Southbank area and Kangaroo Pointis now connected to the city center by several pedestrian bridges and regular ferry services so it is a convenient place to stay if you want to be in a quieter area but still only a short walk from the city. If you are a coach or train traveler, there is lots of hotels clustered around the Roma Street bus and train depot. Many people come to Brisbane to see fantastic sporting events and Suncorp Stadium, which is the venue for most rugby events is only a short walk from Roma Street. The Gabba hosts Australian Rules football matches and many of the international cricket fixtures and it also is surrounded by excellent hotels.

Brisbane airport lies on the eastern boundary of the city and adjoins Moreton Bay. As with most international airports, there is a lot of hotels conveniently located close by. Most Brisbane suburbs and satellite cities also have ample hotel accommodation and places like Ipswich, Carindale, Springwood and Aspley also have plenty of hotels to choose from. On Moreton Island which forms the seaward boundary of Moreton Bay, there are some fantastic resort style hotels like Tangalooma resort.
